<\/figure>\n\n\n\nThis morning, Kiefer woke up with a missing tooth.<\/strong> When he noticed the gap, we went straight to the mirror so he could see it for himself. We searched for the tooth but couldn\u2019t find it yet. We expect it will turn up like the last one we found under the bed! Kiefer stayed calm and didn\u2019t get worried, which was wonderful to see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n After cereal, it was time for another haircut. Kiefer let me shave his hair, and once again, he handled it like a pro. The noise from the shaver is still a bit much for him at times, but he\u2019s getting used to it with every session. Each haircut feels a little easier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Right after his haircut, Kiefer went for a shower<\/strong>, which was another positive step in his routine. These transitions can sometimes be tricky, but he managed it well. Afterwards, he dried himself too, which is another lovely step towards independence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We trimmed his fingernails and toenails, and Kiefer managed it perfectly.<\/strong> Years ago, these things would have been so stressful for him. Now, every time we do them, he gets more comfortable\u2014and these little routines are helping him build confidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This afternoon brought another lovely moment. When it was lunchtime, Kiefer made his own special choice. Instead of settling for a standard bread sandwich, he politely asked for a wrap with his favourite tuna and cheese mix inside, remembering to say “please” while making his request.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Watching him make decisions about what he wants and express himself so kindly makes me so proud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I was especially happy when I added cucumber to the plate and he handled it with no problem too, which is a really good bonus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n With it being summer hols, he is able to eat his lunch with his brother and sister. This is great for him and probably helps as they are eating exactly the same, just like at breakfast time and teatime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In between everything else today, Kiefer has been back at his clay modelling. He spent time playing with the figures he made yesterday, reorganising them and acting out little stories before deciding it was time to demolish them and start fresh with something new. He was especially excited because he picked up some new clay at the shop today, so the creativity is set to continue!<\/p>\n\n\n\n On top of that, before our tea time this evening, Kiefer decided to continue his Reading Eggs campaign. After seeing the Reading Eggs poster, he took the initiative to engage with Reading Eggs himself, and right now he\u2019s happily carrying on with his activities. It makes him laugh and smile, but engages his brain massively!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Kiefer ended his day by running wild in his favourite open space field, where he gets to burn off some of his pent-up energy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Today has been a wonderful day with Kiefer – a day filled with little milestones and the kind of growth that reminds me how far he\u2019s come.
