Small Wonders

This morning I spent some time with Kiefer looking at the Match and Spell word boards. I covered the images well with my hand and asked him to read the words. Kiefer knew most by sight but the rest he sounded out and pieced together by himself it was quite impressive. I tried to get Kiefer to put the letters on the cards as an extension activity but his little sister decided she wanted to play too and broke the momentum.

Following on from his Crafty Rafty theme yesterday, Daddy handed Kiefer a Cork and asked Kiefer to make Crafty Rafty with it and he immediately started to add his modelling clay turning it into the bird from one of the episodes. Great job Kiefer! He then went on to make more models of various things.

Whilst his big brother was out at Karate we went for a drive in lovely evening weather and found a great little park to pass the time on. Kiefer enjoyed the climbing web and the slide but his favourite was the seesaw with his daddy. He used lots of words to instruct daddy to do what he wanted but the best were “Sit down Daddy like a cow!” and “Legs up Daddy!”

Kiefer again showed great independence by keeping his new Sonic underwear, that he’d chosen himself, dry all day! He is coping really well with toileting outside of his routine places.
